Do vinyl floors always need an underlayment?
Can be installed directly when the floor is completely flat. If the floor is not flat enough, Quick-Step is recommended Quick-Step liner is compatible with Alpha Vinyl. Quick-Step lining also helps reduce sound transmission.
Alpha Vinyl Pad has an integrated liner. When installing this line, do not add a separate lining layer.
Why do we recommend Quick-Step software?

- Better impact sound reduction In the technical data sheets of the lower floors you can find the sound reduction values.
- The underlayment will reduce the squeaking noise of small dust and other particles under the floor.
- Underlayment density and thickness have been optimized for Quick-Step Luxury Vinyl flooring. Use of other underlayment may cause damage to the floor and is not covered by the warranty (see specific conditions in the warranty document).
What about other extras?
Be careful with rubber lining and other synthetic materials. Because they can cause displacement. If you use rubber underlayment, make sure it is suitable for vinyl floors! Problems with flooring related to non-UNILIN underlayment will void the warranty.
