Choose solutions according to vinyl floors and stair structures.
- Fast screen for Alpha Vinyl Bloom & Blos. Stair covers are designed for closed steps with support, maximum width 1474 mm (medium double) or 1231 mm (small double).
- Quick-Step Incizo brace and Incizo aluminum base configuration
The only condition is that the stair treads must be straight and not round. The lower floor must have holes so that there is a strong adhesion between the glue and the lower floor.
Install plastic stair covers on stairs
Follow these steps to install stair covers to give your stairs the luxury of Alpha vinyl flooring.
- Start by repairing damage and making sure the stair surface is clean and level.
- Accurately measure the height and width of each step (vertical side) and each step (horizontal side).
- To see a floorboard to size, start measuring from the groove on the long side. Also seen all other click configurations.
- Let's combine a board and a plastic panel. Look at the entire plastic board to measure the size. If the bull's nose stands out more than 30mm from the handrail, another panel can be added. Glue these two parts together on the back.
- Glue – vertical side: Always dry before gluing stairs. Start at the top and stick down vertically first. Use the recommended glue and glue with a wavy motion to apply enough glue.
- Attach each floor board to the corresponding vertical edge of each step, with the groove facing down.
- Glue – horizontal surface: Always dry before gluing stairs. First, glue the top of the stair cover down. If the upstairs floor is surface mounted, make sure you use an Incizo between the glued down top and the floating floor. For each step, click all the pieces together to cover the step face (the top of the stairs and the floorboard) to create a face on the bridge. Apply glue to the stairs with a wavy motion and make sure enough glue is applied.
- Push each cover panel upward along the groove of the panel mounted on the lift arm above. Repeat this for each step.
- Surface finishing Seams with Quick-Step Colored kit (QSKIT(-)) to hide any imperfections. The Colored kit is available in white and different matching colors to your floor. The colored kit is also paintable.
Note: this is a step-by-step for a color-matched staircase. If you want a painful lift, you just need to follow the steps related to the stair cover (horizontal side).
Install plastic profiles on your stairs
Below you can find one of the different possibilities.
- Start by removing the old floor covering. Repair damage and ensure the stair surface is clean and flat.
- Cut boards lengthwise for each step. Wear gloves and cut away from the body. We recommend using a concave cutter. Next, glue the board that has been cut to measure vertically.
- Take an aluminum profile and carefully place it on the edge of the stairs, tighten the screw securely.
- Your stairs will probably have a lot of irregularities. You will need to make these steps using a leveling compound. Once this has been done, scrub everything down and vacuum. The transition between the aluminum profile and the surface of your stairs must also be completely smooth.
- You can then start cutting the plastic to size to cover each step. Tape them down and make sure they fit snugly against the siding. Press firmly. Now your stairs look like new.
- Repeat these steps for the remaining stairs.
After 24 hours of glue drying, you can use the stairs.
