How to lay underlayment for engineered wood floors

Prepare gloves, knife, ruler and tape to spread the primer.

Please use it suitable lining to reduce noise, block moisture from the foundation and compensate for small rough spots.

Steps to spread primer

  1. First, roll out a floor pad and push it onto the wall. Make sure you place the pad in the same direction as you intend to lay the floor. Place a box of boards on it to hold that end in place before rolling the rest in the opposite direction.
  2. Then, cut off the edge closest to the perforation.
  3. If the walls don't fit together at right angles, don't worry. Measure the distance between the underlayment and the furthest point on the wall. Mark this point on the lining. If the sloping wall is wider than the lining, mark a second point at the end of the sloping wall. Use the plank to connect the two points. Cut along this board and you have the perfect underlayment installed.
  4. Cut a corner and then use a board to continue cutting If there is a wall trim that is perpendicular to the wall on one side and a wall trim that is not perpendicular on the other side, start by placing the trim against the non-wall for easier positioning.
  5. If part of the lining is damaged, cut off the damaged part and replace it with a new part.
  6. Tip: Use a slightly larger piece of backing to cut the damaged piece. Glue this piece to the existing lining.
  7. Layer the foundation layer by row. When it's time to unwrap the second layer of backing, glue them together. This way you will avoid overlapping of the substrate and ensure the tightness of the screen.
