How to lay engineered wood flooring when the wall runs diagonally
Prepare an adjustable protractor, pen, hammer, folding ruler and miter saw.
For diagonal walls, take the actual angle of the wall before marking the cut line on the board.
- Use a protractor to get the angle between the wall and the planking direction. Tighten the screw on the ruler to keep the measured angle intact.
- Use the first cut sheet as a template to mark the corners for the remaining panels.
- Do not cut diagonal wall panels to the same length because the joint will create a stepped shape. Arrange joints at least 30 cm apart.
- Once you have measured the position to be sawed, use a pen to draw a straight line. Then saw along this line. When placing the boards, remember to place the spacers against the wall. Place them exactly where the two boards click apart. This will help them stay in place while you work.
